From a friendship kindled over a craigslist gear transaction, Modality has morphed into a cross-continental collaboration between guitarist Clark Grant, violinist, bass player, and computer musician Charles Nichols, synthesist Ben Weiss, and drummer and synthesist Jay Bruns.

This Montana and Virginia based collective incorporates elements of early synthesizer music, cinematic composition, global rhythms, and psychedelia into their immersive soundscapes. Although they live in three cities half a country apart, the four members continue to perform and record live over the internet, exploring uncharted territory at the intersection of kosmische, new music, avant-garde, and electronic improvisation.
