Cory Fay - Thanks (For All The Randy Newman)

about

Cory Fay and his backing band, The Good Goddamn, have been defying easy categorization and growing a devoted fan base across the Pacific Northwest from their home base of Missoula, MT since 2017. Beginning as a solo studio experiment that grew into what was described as a, “Montana indie scene super group,” Cory Fay and The Good Goddamn have made a habit of engaging growing audiences with compellingly passionate projects and their unique brand of rock, folk, country and pop music, all defined by the rugged individuality inherent in a group of Montanan musicians with decades of performing and touring experience. A hallmark of Fay's songwriting is his expansive storytelling, epitomized in the recently released and self-produced sophomore album, “Greetings from the Apocalypse Club.” An end-times love story and concept album, it tells a tale taking place over the course of one evening in the titular Club while it bursts at the seems with anthemic glam rock, dirt caked alt-country, melancholy 70’s chamber pop and rootsy punk and emo, ambitiously tied together with repeated musical motifs and mini-overtures.
